College Gains Gold Standard Award
16 December 2009
We are pleased to report that the College has been awarded a Gold Standard Award for Information, Advice and Guidance.
In June 2009 the College was assessed for the Hull IAG Gold Standard on behalf of the Hull 14-19 Partnership. The assessment included the presentation of a portfolio of evidence, plus a day’s assessment in College, which involved the external assessor meeting with a wide range of staff involved in providing IAG to students, observing a tutorial lesson, and talking to students, as well as looking at facilities and resources in College.
The assessment looked at aspects such as pastoral support, tutorial provision, careers advice and guidance, access to information, links with external advice and support agencies and with employers, our response to students’ individual needs and the impartiality of advice offered. We received a very positive assessment report, and were particularly commended on the strength of our pastoral support for students.
