The 13 Barntrup students who hosted Wyke College students in April, came as guests to enjoy a sunny week in Hull at the end of June. Together with their partners they enjoyed the scenic delights of Beverley, York and Whitby as well as Hull and the Humber Bridge. As well as sightseeing they enjoyed lunch in a church and three different evening barbecues, one with a Hawaiian theme.

They thoroughly enjoyed their stay, really appreciated sampling British family life and are all keen to come again. Some German students have already made plans to return for the 2012 Olympic Games and some Hull students are planning to return to Germany during the summer holidays.

Our link school is now looking for any individual, business or enterprise in this area which could accommodate a German student on Work Experience for one or two weeks. Work experience placements in Germany are also to be offered, to help enhance the skills of our students in a working environment.
