In the very early hours of Thursday 18th March, a group of 11 students from AS and A2 Spanish and two staff set off for Gijón on Spain’s Atlantic coast for a week’s educational and study visit.

Wyke Debating Team

Never mind the three party leaders on television – formidable debating skills were shown at the final of the Norvic Debating Competition, which took place at the end of March in Wakefield. Having come through their heat in second place, Wyke’s team prepared a storming speech on the subject of, “That government governs best which governs not at all”, as well as engaging energetically and very skilfully in the topics from other colleges.
