Wyke Debating Team

Never mind the three party leaders on television – formidable debating skills were shown at the final of the Norvic Debating Competition, which took place at the end of March in Wakefield. Having come through their heat in second place, Wyke’s team prepared a storming speech on the subject of, “That government governs best which governs not at all”, as well as engaging energetically and very skilfully in the topics from other colleges.

Young Engineer to represent Britain
09 September 2009
Philippa Clark from Wyke College,will set off for the USA to represent her country at the Intel-sponsored International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Reno, Nevada from 9th - 15th May.
She has earned the opportunity following her success at The Big Bang Fair, the first UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair, when she won the title Young Engineer for Britain.

Wyke Teacher Wins National Award
