Earlier this year, AS and A level students of German received their new hoodies in the colours of the German flag, schwarz, rot und gold. The slogan on the back of the hoodies, Deutsch@Wyke, has now been linked to Wyke’s email system, so that interested new students, who see this address, can email straight through to the German Department.

Wyke Student wins funding for Pet Repsect

Wyke student Glen Hartley has recently organised a winning bid of nearly £24,000 for ‘Pet Respect’, his animal welfare group based in Hull. Pet Respect was founded by Hull community worker Kim Hepple and Glen’s mother, Marina, to promote good pet ownership and reduce the level of harm inflicted on animals, often by children. Glen headed the campaign, which was submitted to Hull City Council’s Youth Opportunity and Youth Capital Funds.

Success for Wyke in League Tables

Wyke students are once again celebrating success in the league tables with an impressive average points score per student in A levels and equivalent qualifications of 832.5. This is a 5.5 point increase on our results from last year and an incredible 111.4 points better than the national average.

South Africa 2010

A group of 12 Wyke students are going on the trip of a lifetime to South Africa next summer to work alongside a charity that supports children affected by HIV/AIDS.
