  2. High Praise against the Highest Standards

    Ofsted 2011

    Ofsted inspectors came to Wyke in February. They carried out what’s called a Focused Monitoring Visit, looking at five themes of work in the College. The report is now available. It says, “At the last inspection the college demonstrated high pass rates and excellent added value on many GCE A level courses. These have been maintained.”

  3. The Best Students in the Region meet Oxford & Cambridge Tutors at Wyke Sixth Form College

    Oxford & Cambridge University lecture at Wyke

    Wyke hosted a Learning Day on Friday, 18th February for the most academically gifted students in the Humber region. Academics and students from the universities of Oxford and Cambridge gave lectures and ran workshops on topics in the Arts, Sciences and Mathematics that were designed to extend and stimulate students' intellectual experience.

    Students from eight schools and colleges in the area accepted our invitation to participate with Wyke students in this unique event which it was hoped will encourage them to apply to the most competitive universities.

  4. Wyke Students Top the Table Again

    Students at Wyke Sixth Form College maintained their position at the top of the Department for Education’s post-16 Attainment Tables for all of Hull and East Yorkshire.

    Students left Wyke Sixth Form College with average scores 116 points above the England average. It is also 54 points better than any other state-funded school or college in the city and again 80 points above the Beverley joint sixth form.

    This score represents the full achievement of students learning at Level 3 (A level and equivalent qualifications). It means that Wyke students go on to university and employment with bags full of success, greater than the average regionally and nationally.

  5. Nine Goals in One Match

    Daniel Hodson

    Daniel Hodson, who is studying P.E., Media and Film, has become the first Wyke football player to score 9 goals in one match! In a game against Hull College, which ended 9-1 to Wyke, Daniel scored three hatricks, a college record!
