Teenager Cancer Trust Cheque
01 June 2012
The Student Executive has raised £2,569.17 for Teenage Cancer Trust through a wide variety of events and fundraisers over the course of the year. As well as pioneering the colleges first ever Rag week, they continued in a long tradition of organizing college parties. The Exec have also held smaller events as a “Blind Date” and overseen such student charity drives as sponsored silences and sponsored head-shaves.
Rojan Mahdavi-Jovainy, The Student Executive’s charity officer, said "Over the past academic year we, as a Student Executive Team, have been working hard with all members of the college to raise as much money as possible for the Teenage Cancer Trust Unit at Castle Hill Hospital. The epitome of our fundraising events however came in the form of RAG week - a college-wide, weeklong event filled with smaller events run by tutor groups, friends, staff, mentors... everybody in college participated! None of the events would have been possible without the constant and ongoing support from both Teenage Cancer Trust and the college." President of the Student Executive, Sam Lee, added “We’ve raised a great total for a really great cause. I think everyone in the executive, and all the student body can be really proud of what we’ve achieved.”
