Wyke Teacher Wins National Award

A teacher at Wyke Sixth Form College, Chris Tansey, has won a national award for his work with students using IT.
The award, made by the Learning and Skills Council as part of its Learning for Living And Work Project, was made to Chris at a glittering ceremony at the Barbican Centre in London on Monday, 13th October.
Chris heads up the Wyke College Foundation course, working with students who have a rich and wide variety of needs. He entered a proposal to the project last year and has been doing innovative work with his students using the very latest information technology. As a result, against nation-wide competition he won the award in the Special Needs Practitioner category, for innovative use of IT.
