Who is the course for?

This course is for students who have studied at Key Stage 4 and have achieved a grade D.

Content outline

This course is designed to give students new opportunities to improve their understanding and use of both spoken and written language.p>

The course includes two examinations: one on the study of written texts and the other on using language to convey information and ideas.

The controlled assessment units focus on literary texts, creative writing and on the study of spoken language. In addition, students will be assessed through their own use of speech in a variety of contexts.
