Who is the course for?

A BTEC Level 2 Diploma is a practical, work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.

It introduces you to the employment area you have chosen and provides a good basis to go on to a more advanced work-related qualification.

Content outline

The course is made up of eight units – four core units that everyone takes and four specialist units. The specialist units enable you to study a particular area in more depth. The specialist units are: Vocational experience (includes 2 weeks work experiencein a vocational setting); Anatomy and physiology of the body; Human development; The impact of diet on health.

Method of assessment

All units are assessed, and graded and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded. Assessment takes place throughout the year by doing assignment tasks. Sometimes these are short (to be completed by the next lesson), others are longer taking 2-3 weeks to complete.
