Level 3 : AS/A Level Physics (OCR)
Who is the course for?
This course is essential for anyone hoping to study Physics (and most Engineering courses) at University. It is also valuable for a wide range of other careers and courses. You should have a GCSE average of 5.5 or above and a minimum of a grade C in GCSE Science and Maths. Most students wanting to enrol on the course will have achieved B grades in GCSE Science and Maths.
The first year (AS) will cover fundamental aspects of Physics, including mechanics, electricity and waves. In the second year (A2), you will build on this foundation, looking in depth at areas such as nuclear physics, medical imaging and the Universe. An internal assessment of practical skills takes place for both AS and A2.

At Wyke we recognise that applications for Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science are particularly competitve, and therefore in addition to the normal careers and UCAS support in college, we offer a specific programme to support students considering applying for these subjects.
