Welcome to Wyke
Taking part in the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge is an honour in itself, but to gain a Roentgenium Award is an amazing achievement.
This term, former Malet Lambert student Josh Langcaster, accompanied by his Chemistry teacher Brenda Corr, visited the Royal Society, London, to collect his trophy alongside other award winning students. This was a fantastic accomplishment as he was one of the top 0.8% of students in the country to achieve this level out of more than 7000 entrants.
Josh, who has already spent a week at Cambridge University as part of his prize, was invited to give a brief lecture to the other successful candidates. During his five minute presentation, Josh gave an interesting insight into his favourite element, Iron.
Josh is currently in the process of applying for Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge and Durham. In the future he would like to pursue a career in chemistry research.
