Wyke is an established, popular Sixth Form College with an outstanding reputation in the locality. The college draws students from Kingston-upon-Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, and further afield. Wyke is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher to join this high performing and hardworking department to make a difference to the lives of our students. The appointees will:
· Be keen to embrace our culture of high standards and a have commitment to development.
· Be a well-qualified teacher, skilled in delivering engaging lessons that draw the best performance from students.
· Have the ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues and understand the factors that lead to high levels of student achievement.
· Teach on the A-Level Chemistry and possibly contribute to other subjects such as Level 3 Applied Science, according to their specialism.
You will be joining a team of subject specialists keen to promote a passion for the study of the natural world in our students. Around 70% of our learners typically go on to pursue careers and further study in the sciences after their time at Wyke
The chemistry department is well-resourced, and are keen to promote collaboration between teachers to minimise workload pressures. Each section of the course is accompanied by a topic booklet developed by the department to simplify planning, while respecting teacher autonomy.
