  1. Teacher of History

    0.4 of full-time, fixed term for 2015-16 academic year

    Sixth Form Colleges Association Teaching Scale: £21,684-£37,008 pro rata

    Wyke is a rapidly growing, highly successful Sixth Form College with an outstanding reputation in the locality. The October 2013 Ofsted inspection reflected extremely positively on the College and value-added scores put our outcomes amongst the top in the country. The college draws students from Kingston-upon-Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, and further afield.

    A skilled, enthusiastic Teacher of History is required, who is committed to contributing to the continued development of this successful and growing department. This would suit a teacher with excellent classroom skills which have led to a record of high student achievement.   2. Minibus Drivers

    Casual cover for trips, sports matches, and absence. Likely to also be a small number of regular hours per week

    Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff Salary Scale point 15: £15,486 pro rata (approx £8.04 per hour)

    The Minibus Drivers form a small team essential to the smooth running of the College transport system. Drivers collect students each morning to ensure they arrive in College before 9a.m. and take them home every evening at 4.10pm. Routes can involve a round trip of up to 2.5 hours at each end of the day. Destinations include Holme on Spalding Moor, Goole, Hornsea, Withernsea and the Scunthorpe area.

    We are looking to recruit a small number of additional ‘casual’ Minibus Drivers to cover any absences, with the option of taking on regular driving hours when vacancies become available. It is likely that a small number of hours per week will be regularly allocated (2 runs) and possible that a driver is required for morning and evening runs every day, depending on student enrolments from each geographical area.

    Candidates should hold a full driving licence with a D1 entitlement. Experience of driving minibuses and/or working with young people is desirable.

  3. Cleaner

    Full year

    Preferably 2 posts of 10 hours per week, 6.30-8.30am, a 20 hour post working the morning shift and an afternoon shift 4-6pm would also be considered

    Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff Salary Scale point 10: £13,136 pro rata (actual salary for 10 hour post approximately £3,550 per annum)

    Wyke is a rapidly growing, highly successful Sixth Form College with an outstanding reputation in the locality. We serve largely 16-19 year old students from Hull, the East Riding and North Lincolnshire.

    We require two Cleaners to work alongside an enthusiastic team of 13 other Cleaners. You will normally clean a set area of the College although some flexibility will be required, particularly to cover any colleague absence. We currently have 4 modern buildings housing around 1800 students and 180 staff.

    Duties within the department cover the full range of cleaning activities (see the job description below for further information). The successful candidates will work well within a team and also on their own initiative. They will have high standards and a positive attitude to their work.

    There is the possibility that 7.5 hours per week overtime across the lunchtime period will also be available during term time, please indicate on your application if you also wish to be considered for this.

  4. Library and Learning Mentor

    24 hours per week (working Monday - Friday), term time only

    Fixed term until July 2016 in the first instance

    Wyke is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Library and Learning Mentor, skilled at working with young people, to join our team who currently support students and maintain a positive, studious atmosphere in our large, modern library. You should have experience of working with young people and be skilled at building positive relationships with them. Having strong A-levels or equivalent is essential for the role and a degree desirable.
