  1. Invigilators

    Casual posts, mainly in May and June of each year

    £6.74 per hour (or £9.81 if acting as a Senior Invigilator)

    We are looking to appoint a number of invigilators to work as part of our exams team to assist in the smooth running of the exams process for our students. Some may be offered the opportunity to undertake training in order to be able to take the lead in a large exam room. The work will be on a casual basis, mainly in May and June of each year although some invigilation and training takes place at other times of the year.

    The successful candidates will have a calm and pleasant manner and good organisational skills. Experience of invigilation and/or working with young people would be an advantage but is not required. Significant levels of availability between 11 May and 20 June 2015 is essential.

    Some training for the role will take place the week beginning 23 March 2015.

  2. Cleaner

    10 hours per week, 4-6pm, full year

    Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff Salary Scale point 10: £13,136 pro rata (actual salary approximately £3,550 per annum)

    Wyke is a rapidly growing, highly successful Sixth Form College with an outstanding reputation in the locality. We serve largely 16-19 year old students from Hull, the East Riding and North Lincolnshire.

    We require a Cleaner to work alongside an enthusiastic team of 13 other Cleaners. You will normally clean a set area of the College although some flexibility will be required, particularly to cover any colleague absence. We currently have 4 modern buildings housing around 1800 students and 180 staff.

    Duties within the department cover the full range of cleaning activities (see the job description below for further information). The successful candidates will work well within a team and also on their own initiative. They will have high standards and a positive attitude to their work.

    There is the possibility that 7.5 hours per week overtime across the lunchtime period will also be available during term time, please indicate on your application if you also wish to be considered for this.

  3. Teacher of Law

    Permanent from September 2015, Full-time

    Wyke is a rapidly growing, highly successful Sixth Form College with an outstanding reputation in the locality. The October 2013 Ofsted inspection reflected extremely positively on the College and value-added scores put our outcomes amongst the top in the country. The college draws students from Kingston-upon-Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, and further afield.

    Wyke is looking to recruit a teacher keen to teach at post-16 to teach A-level and BTEC Law. This very successful department currently has 3 experienced and highly skilled full-time teachers who have supported students to consistently achieve outstanding outcomes. The successful candidate will be a well-qualified teacher and have excellent classroom skills which have led to a record of high student achievement.   4. Teacher of Sociology

    Sociology is a very popular A-level choice for Wyke students. We seek an excellent sociology teacher to join this friendly, supportive department. This would suit a newly qualified or experienced teacher with excellent classroom skills who is looking to work in a highly successful post-16 setting. The successful candidate will teach A-level sociology and it would be desirable if they could also contribute to teaching A-Level Religious Studies.   5. Teacher of Economics and Accounts/Business Studies

The successful candidate will ideally teach A-level Economics as well as contributing to Accounting or Business Studies teaching.
