Our Library is the heart of the Oak Building and plays a key role in the success of your studies at Wyke. This impressive space gives our students access to computers, online resources such as research journals and articles along with reading books and wellbeing resources.
The majority of our students choose to go to the Library in their free periods or on their lunch break to complete work in their own time. The Library is a quiet space to complete independent work.
8.30am – 4.30pm Mondays to Thursday

Please check your emails and tutorial notices for holiday and exam arrangements.
The Library has a number of collections:
Located close to the help desk, a selection of up to date dictionaries, statistics, encyclopaedias, and atlases etc – a very useful place to start any research.
Students have access to the internet, along with a range of articles and journals through Wyke's subscription to JSTOR.
The bulk of the Library stock, over 7,000 items, is arranged around the shelves. Every item is on the Library catalogue and easy to locate, but do ask if you need any help in locating items.
We have a wide range of recent films on DVD and music on CD; subject DVDs and CD-ROMs are also available for short-term loan.
We have a wide selection of, mainly paperback, novels for your leisure / recreational interests.
There is a large and well stocked collection of books and leaflets on jobs, apprenticeships, work experience opportunities and universities. Our careers team are also located in a separate office in the Library for one to one appointments or advice.
We take over 60 titles covering both subject and leisure interests. Major articles in the subject magazines are listed on the main Library catalogue.
Students are allowed up to four books and one CD / DVD / CD-ROM at a time. Most books are loaned for three weeks and they can be renewed or reserved. DVDs are available for overnight loan only.
The Library catalogue is available on all student desktops as a button on the front page of the Intranet.
Black and white photocopying is available in the Library and paid through the ParentPay system.
Colour copying can be sent to: studentprint@wyke.ac.uk and collected from the Main Office.
