INTRODUCING THIS EXCITING ENRICHMENT

Want to work in the Media Industry? Thinking of taking Media at University but don’t know what course to do? Considering an Apprenticeship in Marketing, Gaming, Film Making etc? then Pre-Media is the right enrichment for you.

We run three academic courses in the Media Department: A Level Media, A Level Film and the Creative Digital Media Production BTEC. Many students want to seek a career in this field once they have completed their two-year courses. To do this they need information, good advice and to meet those people who can direct them to the pathways they could follow to achieve this dream.

Pre-Media is a relatively new enrichment and throughout the two years you will be invited to several events and talks each half term that will give you some essential information. There will be one or two events each half term but if you wish to speak to the course leader at any time and seek advice that is more than acceptable.

WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF IT?

· Initial Meeting to guide you through the best University Media courses across the country

· Sessions that look at Media apprenticeships and how to apply

· Online talks and meetings with industry professionals

My experience at Wyke has been an overwhelming success. I thought that moving from a small school to a larger college would be a daunting experience yet it wasn’t at all. Everyone is so friendly and approachable. Flyers has provided me with so many useful skills and experiences which I will never forget.

The independence and opportunity to meet new people was why I chose to study my A Levels at the College. I enjoyed being able to complete an EPQ as it allowed me to research and write about a topic I found interesting.

I knew Wyke was the College I wanted to study at because I felt it had a much more mature and relaxed environment than other colleges. I knew I wanted to study Human, Social and Political Sciences at university and my teachers and Flyers mentor offered me additional support sessions to further develop my knowledge in these areas.

I was attracted to studying at Wyke because it offered me with many opportunities that would allow me to progress into Higher Education. Being a Flyer I have gained invaluable skills, experiences and support with my personal statement for university.
