wyke start 2026

GET READY FOR WYKE START

TASTER EVENT for all ApPlicants with a CONDITIONAL OFFER
SAVE THE DATE  30 June - 1 July

Join us for a two-day taster event designed to showcase what makes Wyke Sixth Form College truly exceptional. As an Ofsted Outstanding college, we're excited to welcome our future students to explore their journey with us.

Every applicant will experience lessons in their selected subjects and two personal development sessions. There will also be an opportunity to discover more about our amazing enrichment programme, explore the £30M university style campus, meet our award-winning teachers and of course make new friends.

Following Wyke Start, you will be required to go onto the Applicant Portal to confirm the 3 course choices (or equivalent) that you would like to study with us in September.

Free transport will be available across the two days, and the free lunch will take place on Wednesday 1 July. If you are unable to make one of the days due to previous commitments, don’t worry, it won’t impact on our conditional offer of a place and we will look forward to seeing you.

WYKe Start Summer Work

At Wyke Start, each of your subjects set you compulsory work  to complete over the holidays to help you prepare for your courses in September. If you were unable to attend Wyke Start, you are still required to complete this work. Please complete this to the best of your ability and bring it along on your first day at Wyke, Thursday 10 September.

You can access the Summer Work page here.

Enrichment At Wyke

At Wyke, we believe that a rounded study programme goes beyond your academic course choices, as gaining great qualifications is just one aspect of your time here. There is an expectation that all students engage in at least 30 hours of enrichment during their time at Wyke. Enrichments will form a key part of your application process and our staff will spend time matching our enrichment opportunities to your interests and future goals. The overall aim is to provide a range of engaging opportunities and experiences for all students to expand new and current interests, improve independence, build character and resilience and – most importantly – to develop a love for learning
