Course update 2026

<< Back to all news

We are delighted to inform you that the Government has listened to feedback from the education sector, meaning the College’s exceptional Level 3 Vocational provision in Health and Science have been approved for funding for a further two years.

This means that we are now able to increase the breadth of courses offered in these areas so that we can continue to provide you with interesting and exciting study programmes that will help you achieve your career goals.

For more information on what this means, please see this video or the information provided below:

The courses that we can offer in September 2026 are:

1 x A Level Equivalent:

•        Applied Science

•        Health and Social Care

2 x A Level Equivalent:

•        Applied Science

•        Health and Social Care

3 x A Level Equivalent:

•        Health and Social Care

•        T-level Health

Unfortunately, this means that we won’t be able to offer our new Medical Science or Early Childhood Development courses this September. Please be assured that the courses we can offer will still allow you to achieve the same level of success and the same range of employment and university destinations after your time with us.

Please don’t be worried if you have applied for either of these courses - you have plenty of time to consider your options, and support will be provided to help you update your subject choices. Your conditional place at Wyke is secured until you are ready to do this.

Next Steps:

•        Research our new courses by accessing the www.wyke.ac.uk website using the links above to learn more.

•        Attend our on-site Applicant Event on Thursday 23rd April and receive expert advice and guidance from our subject-specialist teachers. Invitations to this event will be sent via email and post later this month.

•        Take part in our webinar covering the differences between these courses to identify which one is best for you. Invitations to this event will be sent via email later this term.

•        If you haven’t been interviewed yet, you will be able to use your interview slot to confirm your course option choices.

•        If you have been interviewed, you will have the opportunity to make any course changes you wish at the Applicant Event. If you are unable to attend, you will be offered a short telephone interview at a later date to finalise your choices.

We look forward to discussing your course choices with you in more detail over the coming weeks. If you have any questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact us via email on office@wyke.ac.uk
