We are delighted to announce the results of this year’s Senior Maths Challenge, and once again, our students have demonstrated exceptional mathematical talent and dedication. Their achievements reflect both their individual commitment and the strength of our academic community.

We are especially proud to highlight former Sirius North Academy student Abbie Birnie, who has qualified for the highly prestigious British Mathematical Olympiad Round 1 (BMO1). This year’s competition saw over 103,000entrants worldwide, with only approximately 1,000 students advancing to BMO1.Abbie’s qualification places her among the very top tier of mathematical talent internationally. She will undertake a challenging 3.5-hour written paper later this term, and we wish her every success.

In addition, 14 students have qualified for the Senior Kangaroo, the next tier of the competition. This round is named after a mathematics contest that originated in Australia and has since gained global recognition. Qualification for the Senior Kangaroo places these students in the top 10% of all entrants — a remarkable accomplishment.
