Wyke is proud to celebrate another outstanding year for its Oxbridge Programme, with a 100% acceptance rate for students applying to Oxford and Cambridge Universities.
Nine students who received conditional offers earlier in the year successfully met the rigorous entry requirements—typically A*, A, A—securing their places at two of the world’s most prestigious institutions. Their chosen subjects span a remarkable breadth, including Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE), History, Spanish, Linguistics, Medicine, Geography, Social Sciences, Law, and Natural Sciences.
This diversity highlights the academic strength of Wyke’s curriculum and the college’s commitment to nurturing excellence across disciplines. The Oxbridge Programme provides tailored support, expert guidance, and a learning culture that empowers students to aim high and achieve their goals.
Among this year’s successful applicants is Anya Piasecka, a former Hessle High student who confirmed her place to study PPE at Oxford on results day. Reflecting on her journey, Anya shared:
“I'd say plan in advance. You'll have a lot to do for your application, a lot to make yourself stand out. So you sort of think about it in advance. Just don't give up. Keep going.”
Also celebrating her success is Katie Lister, a former Kelvin Hall student heading to Cambridge to read Human, Social and Political Sciences. She offered this advice:
“I would say believe in yourself and you can do it. I didn't think I could do it, but with the support from like, especially Ella Miller, she's been amazing. You absolutely can do it.”
